i had wanted to blog about Sarah Palin and all her nonsense about 'death pannels' but something else (again) came up.
Privatly own
co-op'dTraditionally, co-op's are companies owned by the people for the people to help better suit the people. Co-op's were introduced around the same time as unions had have done wonders for people. I shop at co-op's so of course they, in and of themselves aren't bad.
But privatly own co-op's as a subsitute for public health care? That just screams cover fornt.
For those of you who aren't too familiar with this whole debate, you may think '
Well gee Monnii, if it's health care owned by the people isnt that a good thing? Arent you getting what you want? Kinda and no is the easy answer.
It may seem like a good idea at first, however the power of health care is
STILL in the hands of these huge insurnce companies who really don't give a damn about people in the first place. The money will still cylce through them, not the people, even if it's a non-for-profit.
the major problem with the co-op idea is that people can buyin. Why is that bad? Major incurance campanies can buy into these plan and buy them out.
Many don't realize it, but we have had co-op like plansbefore, and they have all been bought up and changed.
I don't understand why the Democratic party is preping itself for a retreat. According to the major polls of today, the majority of the people in this nation
want a public option, either to keep the insurnce companies honest or to cover them.
And the Dems don't have to worry about a Rebulican vote- they have the majority!!! Even with the blue dogs in the backgroung; they
have the votes. They're no need to pander to the wants of the crazy radicals on the right.
I am sourly dissapointed and I pray that we don't give up on the public option.
QUESTION!!
1) do you even care about this debate?
2) What's your favourite colour?
3) Do you drive?
Take care all!
