Facebook doesnt want me to be independent it seems

Funny conversation:
Mike Hey, let's go to Vancouver for the 4th. We can hit the bars!
Me: Vancouver as in Canada? For the 4th?

Mike: Yah, and?

Me: Ist that treason?

So, I'm trying to make this blog more interactive for those of you stopping by. I'm cleaning up my entertainment section so it isn't just a mess of articles. I'm thinking about adding a plugboard, ask me form, a few resources and a poll. Anything eles? I'm open to suggestions here people lol. What do you want to see?

And I figured that putting my blog on a schedule would make sense partly because everyone else is doing it and and partly so I don't forget to update. I keep my planner up and tidy and I do as it tells me.... So I'm thinking Sundays and Wednesdays?

And last administrative thing--I'm going through and cleaning out the links at the bottom of the page. Some of them are dead or will misdirect you to another site (That is how long I've been gone! ugh!). Anyone who I have not been in contact with by Wednesday will get deleted (unless you still have my link up). If you wish you be added to the list (or re-added) simply ask me via the Apply form or comment me about it in my most recent post =]

Okay, now that that's out of the way, let's talk Facebook shall we? I'm not at ALL happy with the fact that FB is trying to get involved with my love life. I really haven't been in a 'relationship' relationship since the time of Willy (OMG that was about a year ago too!) but I only recently changed my status on FB to single because of a guy I liked. Anyways, after I did that, FB started posting this advert on every page:

Umm excuses me Facebook but I don't need you--of all things-- telling me I need a hot new boyfriend pissy

As it stands now, the last thing I need it another boy toy. I told a friend of mine that I just want to have fun this summer, but it has really backfired! There are so many nice guys out there! One of the guys, I'll call him Bret, even wanted to take me to Oregon this weekend = I mean how sweet is that for a guy who doesn't even know me that well?

Sometimes I feel that I'm going to Hell for this, but then again, it's not like I'm stringing them on either. I told them that I'm going to be moving soon so I don't want anything serious....

Or could I be over thinking things? I realize that I'm cheap--plain and simple. And I'm use to cheap dates too; like a movie and a veggie burger in the front seat of an old busted car from the 90's.

So when a guy takes me a really really REALLY nice place for dinner and then wants to take me to last an upscale club as a VIP, I get a little confuse you know? I'm sure that the few guys I went out with like me like me. They all called back and asked to hang out with me again. So they like me right? Right?

And if they're doing all of this to try and get with me, I have to tell them I only want to befriends.

But then what if they're just trying to be friendly? Then I'd look like an idiot for saying anything and then maybe they wont want to be friends. Am I even making any sense? Help much?

Anyways.....

Happy 4th =]

Lol, that Veteran's day graphic is the close I have to the 4th of July. Happy America day tongue

So last year I spent the holiday at Ocean Shores with three other friends. This year, I get to spend it at home (yay?) We had a big party at our house so my mom had volunteered my talents. Honestly, I'm kinda tried of being pimped out but I do make an awesome fondant cake!

Monnii Bee Monnii Bee

It tasted amazing too =] but took WAY to long to make.

So after that I sat back to chill for a bit when a got a text from a friend of mine. Just some background on him, he's an older, NRA, conservative white male. Don't ask me why we're good friends.

So today, he sent me a text saying: Happy Independence Day So I responded by saying Happy 4th of July.

That lead to a phone call and a lecture about how my forefathers fought for my freedom and how our soldiers are fighting for us and how I need to respect "the day."

Psh! Please man! I love you BUT my forefathers were Mick's who couldn't get a job, Blacks who were slaves and the surviving 10% of Natives.

He shut up. lol

In all honesty though, I totally agree with him for the most part. We enjoy so much today because of the forward thinkers of the past and for that, Im truly grateful. And I might be a Greenpeace-n, treehuggin "Oh Geez, Washington DC suck right now" liberal, but I am proud to be an American.

That is until Its time for me to travel aboard again, in which case, I tell people I'm from Canada.

So the pictures below are some I've taken of the local fireworks. They're beautiful--the fireworks that is, not so much the photos =]
